Rohan completed his MBBS with first class honours at the University of Queensland in 1992 and was awarded a University Medal. He undertook his anatomical pathology training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and obtained his fellowship in 1999. In 2000 Dr Mortimore completed a fellowship year in Dermatopathology. He is an author in the World Health Organization Classification of Skin Tumours, in clinically based articles concerned with a variety of skin tumours and dermatoses and in research papers investigating the genetic basis of skin disorders, most notably epidermolysis bullosa. Rohan has had a keen interest in dermatopathology educational activities for over a decade. He teaches dermatology registrars and pathology registrars on a weekly basis and is a regular presenter at the Brisbane Hospitals Dermatology Group clinical meetings. He has presented at numerous educational conferences for skin cancer specialists and general practitioners throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.
