Dr Richard Williamson completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Queensland. He graduated with first class honours in 1990 and was awarded the AMA prize for Medicine. In 1987 he completed a Bachelor of Medical Science degree, with distinction, in pathology. After completing his pathology training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital he won a Churchill Fellowship in 1999 and undertook study into the molecular diagnosis of solid tumours in the USA. He also studied dermatopathology under Prof. Philip E. LeBoit in the USA. He is an author in the World Health Organization Classification of Skin Tumours and in articles concerned with a variety of skin tumours and dermatoses. He has been a regular presenter at conferences and clinical meetings over many years and is a member of the Australasian Dermatopathology Society Executive Committee. He has extensive experience and expertise in dermatopathology, soft tissue and bone tumours.
