Dr Aliya Azlan graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medical Science and MBBS in 2009. During her undergraduate medical studies, she undertook a year of research in perinatal medicine at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne investigating the role of Pregnane X receptors in parturition. She completed her specialist training in anatomical pathology at various public and private laboratories around Brisbane including The Royal Brisbane Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, and The Prince Charles Hospital. She is also an Associate Lecturer with the School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Queensland. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) in 2018. Her special interests include dermatopathology, gynecological pathology, and the use of virtual pathology and social media in pathology training and education.
